Urban Outfitters celebrated Earth Month with a range of initiatives that celebrated the brand’s heritage in reuse + renewal.

Urban Renewal was featured this month with creative collaborations of one-of-a-kind vintage and reworked pieces from Burger Babie, Birthday Girl, Different Bugs, and Tessa Fay. Also under the Urban Renewal brand, UO launched a cross-department initiative, led by one of our own employees, to upcycle old UO event signage into new bags. The collection sold out within 24 hours of launch.

FP-Earth

Free People showcased its Care FP platform — the brand's commitment to environmental sustainability and community-focused social impact — through various activities, partnerships, and product during Earth Month.

Care FP hosted their 4th Annual Cleanup Week during Earth Week. In total, 212 volunteers cleaned up 476 bags of trash! In addition, FP donated a total of $50k to the National Park Foundation.

Free People’s latest swimwear collection is thoughtfully created with mother nature in mind. Each piece is made with at least 50% of a responsible material — including recycled, recyclable and degradable materials — to reduce our footprint and support circularity. During Earth Week, FP hosted an Earth Day Edition of FP Live to learn all about FP Beach Swim and to shout out the new colorways and styles that dropped!

Anthro-Earth-Month

Anthropologie teamed up with The Nature Conservancy for a second year to leverage their expertise on environmental topics. This year, they shared facts and educational materials as it relates to rainforests and the sustainable elements of bamboo. TNC will received a $100,000 donation, and customers were encouraged to contribute as well through QR codes on store signage and rounding up to the nearest dollar at check out.

Anthropologie hosted store display workshops in honor of Earth Month and in support of their continued partnership with The Nature Conservancy across the country. Workshops were led by Anthropologie Display teams at 20 different stores, in 5 regions, where guests will helped make abstract bamboo leaves for interior apparel displays. All proceeds from workshop ticket sales were donated to The Nature Conservancy.
