OUR STORY Started at the URBN Home Office — a cornerstone of Philadelphia’s historic Navy Yard — with our first concept, Shop 543. With a view overlooking old carrier ships on the Delaware River, Shop 543, is a culinary hub for both URBN employees and the public.
In 2008, we found our next great success with Terrain. What began as a small cafe nestled in our Terrain flagship in Glen Mills, PA grew into a full-service restaurant offering brunch and dinner. We now operate three Terrain Cafe locations in Westport, CT, Devon, PA and Doylestown, PA.
Captivated by the bustling Philadelphia food scene, URBN expanded its food and beverage presence with the acquisition of The Vetri Family Restaurant Group in 2015, which included an array of Italian restaurant concepts founded by Marc Vetri and partners. The portfolio included creatively reimagined neighborhood pizza joint, Pizzeria Vetri, and Italian wood-fired rotisserie, Lo Spiedo (later re-conceptualized as Gatehouse).
In 2017, we rebranded our division as Menus & Venues. Under this moniker, we continue to foster the growth of key restaurant concepts in the group, including Terrain Cafe and Pizzeria Vetri. In addition to restaurants, the Terrain Events business includes three stunning event venues in the suburbs of Philadelphia: Terrain at Styer’s, Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard, and Terrain Gardens at DelVal. Our gatherings reflect the cycle of the seasons and the bounty of the land, capturing the beauty of all things grown and creating unique garden experiences.
