ACHIEVEability Impact Day

On April 19th, 150 URBN volunteers joined ACHIEVEability for their inaugural Impact Day, a day dedicated to making a positive impact in West Philadelphia. As the presenting sponsor, URBN contributed financially, provided supplies and skilled labor, and fully owned two projects: Porches that Pop and Small Business Improvement. Working alongside 400 other volunteers, URBN volunteers spent the day painting porches, building picnic tables and planters, cleaning up flowerbeds, opening the organization’s community garden, fixing address numbers for homes, and improving the internal and external look of businesses.
URBN Volunteer Stats:
- 50 porches, railings and stoops painted
- 30 porch mailboxes Installed
- 20 picnic tables for community spaces built
- 30 flower planters built and filled
- 6 small business storefront window murals painted
- 10 city blocks weeded and cleaned up
Impact Day is part of ACHIEVEability’s effort to break the cycle of poverty for West Philadelphia families through education, affordable housing, supportive services, community and economic development.
